Gabrielle & Bill - June 2023

Gabrielle and Bill had a beautiful Summer wedding at The Farmhouse! The rain held off just in time for their ceremony, followed by a fun filled night!

How did you meet and when did he propose?

Bill and I met at a family gathering at his grandma's house that I knew was a set up. Bill was not aware it was a set up to meet me. I worked with Bill's Aunt and she was trying to set me up with Bill for 3 years prior to finally saying yes! Since then we have been inseparable since August 2017! Bill proposed on 6/28/22 after going on a sunset motorcycle ride by a lake near his grandma's backyard where we first met! It was the most beautiful sunset I had ever seen and ended up being such a special highlight.

Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding? What were some of your favorite things about the venue?

We decided on The Farmhouse because it was a "home like" environment. It was rustic, welcoming, and open. It felt like we were at home and wanted to celebrate our union at this beautiful destination. Once we saw the grounds we could not see us getting married and celebrating anywhere else. My favorite aspects of the venue are the staff. The staff goes above and beyond and is the most organized I have ever seen. They truly take care of you and your family and friends from the moment you book with them to your big day. We also loved the outdoor scenery, the intimate reception area, the getting ready rooms for the bride and groom, the intimate sweetheart table, and the FOOD. The food was delicious!!! Lastly, the decor from the ceremony arch decor, table centerpiece setting, the colors of the napkins and linens (which they have so many to choose from!) The Farmhouse made everything easy!

What was one of your favorite moments on your wedding day?

My favorite moment was walking down the aisle and seeing Bill's reaction. Fun fact- Bill does not like to smile and he sure did smile A LOT on our wedding day. Some more favorite moments were my first look with my grandpa, Bill and I’s first dance, watching Bill and his mom have their mother and son dance, having my dance with my grandpa, having a special song dedicated to my step dad as a surprise for my mom, dancing with my mom and having a special moment for us, our private last dance with just Bill and I to end the night, our ribbon wand exit, CAKE! It was the best tasting cake I ever had, and looking out from the sweetheart table and seeing all of our loved ones.

What song did you choose for your first dance? What other special touches did you include on your big day?

Our first dance song was "Growing Old With You" by Restless Road.

Some other special details we included was our dog bar sign, memorial table for our loved ones, a tribute song for my mom and step dad, thank you cards on each place setting, foam light glow sticks for guests to have on the dance floor, and having a ribbon exit to end the night.

If you had one piece of advice for future couples, what would it be?

I would advise all future couples to enjoy every moment of your big day especially watching everything come together after planning such an exciting and special day. Don't stress the small things and take in every moment. Make sure to take the time to eat, drink, and be married! It truly goes by fast and in a blink of an eye. It is so special to see your significant other go from your fiancé to spouse in just 30 minutes.
