Alyssa and Tom tied the knot on the perfect April day surrounded by friends and family! We love learning more about our couples, their love stories, and how their experience was at The Farmhouse!
How did you meet?
“It’s a funny story. I saw Toms profile pop up in the people you may know section on Facebook and we had a couple of mutual friends and I thought he was adorable so I added him. He accepted my friend request and was also immediately interested and asked how I knew him. I said I didn’t but I wanted to… and the rest was history.”
How did Tom propose?
"While hiking in Alapocas State Park in March 2021 on a gorgeous sunny day, we stopped for a minute to rest on a bench and overlook the river… and that’s when Tom proposed! We carved our initials into the bench and it was such a wonderful memory. He said he had the ring for a while and had already asked my parents for their blessing and had just been waiting for the right moment to ask me."
Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding?
"When we were deciding on a wedding venue, we set out looking for a venue that offered all inclusive packages and had a pergola. We found that in the Farmhouse and so much more! We loved the gorgeous wooden floors and homey details and the beautiful grounds. We also can’t say enough wonderful things about our wedding coordinator, Katie! One of my bridesmaids saw how wonderful Katie was on our wedding day and immediately booked a wedding coordinator for her own wedding."
What song did you choose for your first dance?
"We danced to Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley."
What other special touches did you include on your big day?
"We read our own vows, and our wedding favor was a donation & keepsake pen from Shriners Hospital for children where I had all of my back surgeries from the ages of 4 to 18. One of our speeches was given by a groomsman and friend of ours with Down syndrome who Tom & I have both worked with as support staff in the past so that was really special to us."
What was one of your favorite moments on your wedding day?
"The whole day was so wonderful. Reading our vows. The beautiful weather. Our dance and our parent dances. The amazing food and drinks. Great music. Dancing with friends and family. Our sparkler exit. We were both on cloud 9 for weeks after our wedding day because it was just so magical!"
